Salzburg, Austria: Greetings from Bloberger Hof

We're in Austria! (and ... we're crazy?)

We'll probably be a little light on details while here, but here's the gist. I've had a paper accepted for publication in a conference, and the meeting of the conference is in Salzburg, Austria this year. Who knows when we might next make it to Austria, so we decided to make a family trip of it.

Traveling with Micah is ... challenging. Not because he's hard to deal with, but because of how much stuff we have to haul around to care for him.

For the record, Sarina and my things all fit in the large suitcase. Everything else is Micah's fault.

For two nights before the conference gets underway, we're staying at a little bed and breakfast on the outskirts (Bloberger Hof). Here's the view from our balcony.

Now that Micah has just finished eating, we're going to go and catch a bus to buy diapers and eat lunch. (and ... we're crazy? yes)

Hey, guys! Belated congratulations on your adorable son! Drew led me to this awesome blog. I'm glad to know that things are going well with you! I hope you are having a fun and safe trip. You are brave brave people!

Jason and I also joined the ranks of parenthood...just a couple of weeks before you, actually! Noah Harrison Schmick was born at 7:39pm on June 29th. He was born at Madison Birth Center in the water, assisted by midwives. Coolest experience ever!!! (No blog, but you can check out our pictures at picasaweb.google.com/laurrn)

This is getting to be a long "comment", but I just wanted to say hi!
