I graduated from Seminary on May 24th!
I've been to several PTS commencement ceremonies and have always thought they were long and boring. This one, however, was short and fabulous! I loved it! The graduation day lasted about 13 hours...just like a wedding. As a result, my feet really hurt because I was walking around all day going to different events: Baccalaureate service, lunch, Commencement rehearsal, dinner, and the Commencement ceremony itself with reception immediately following. It feels so good to have finished Seminary. I won an award in Church History that I wasn't expecting so that was a nice surprise.
While I'm happy about all of that, I'm sad to be leaving. I really loved Seminary. I got to know a lot of the students and faculty very well and it felt a lot like a family. There are still classes that I want to take and things that I want to learn! Many of my friends feel this way...and many of us are planning on going on for PhD's! :-) All in all, the day was fun. :-)
My parents are in town this week for graduation and also to help us pack up for our big move. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all your help! We managed to move all of the furniture going onto the 3rd floor onto the 3rd floor on May 26th. Thanks to the army of friends that helped us! We have the rest of our stuff to move onto the second floor - bedroom, living room, and kitchen - on June 2nd. Thanks in advance for the army of friends that will help us then, too! My brother will be in town that weekend to help. :-) Our house is fabulous. It's only 3 blocks away from where we live now. We are renting the second and third floor from our friend Ted. He has done a fabulous job of fixing it up. Thanks Ted and your crew!
My parents are also celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary! Congrats Mom and Dad! We went out to Casbah, a restaurant really close to our current apartment, to celebrate their wedding anniversary and my graduation. Woo!
